Western Australia Holidays

Capital City: Perth

Western Australia is big, very big, and like Queensland, a journey of a couple of hundred kilometres is considered a short trip. It is a sparsely populated state that has wilderness areas bigger than some overseas countries.

You will find excellent coastlines with spectacular  scenery in the south, deserted goldfield ghost towns, Australia's major pearling centre, the world's largest diamond mine and the locations of many Aboriginal dreamtime legends. Archaeological records show Aboriginal settlements throughout the state dating back over 30,000 years

WA is a year round destination with winter being  June - Aug and summer is Dec - Feb. Some of the inland desert regions record the highest summer temperatures of anywhere in Australia.

Traditional hotels and apartments make up the bulk of holiday accommodation in Perth and the other major centres. Motor inns and motels are the usual accommodation choices in the rural areas.
