Victoria is a very diverse and easy-to-enjoy part of the world. It is not a big state so travel times are not as long as with some of the other Australian states. 

In Victoria, you will find everything from beautiful beaches to high snow country,  spectacular coasts to rugged mountains, fishing trawlers to paddlewheel steamers, large lakes to white water streams, modern casinos to historic sites, vineyards to vegetables and rock climbing to shopping malls.

The capital city is Melbourne, one of Australia's most cosmopolitan cities and considered by many to be the nation's food and fashion centre. Acknowledged as the sports capital of Australia, it hosts football, Formula One car racing, tennis, the Melbourne Cup horse race to name just a few.

Victorian weather is noted for sudden changes. If the locals have umbrellas and coats, follow their lead! Despite the variable weather, the state is an all year holiday destination with Dec - Feb summers and June - Aug winters.

There is no shortage of transport options. The VLine train network links all the major towns. Melbourne has a unique inner city tram system, much loved by locals and visitors plus a commuter train network servicing the outlying suburbs.
