Blue Mountains Highlights

This region is located is terrain so precipitous that it took 25 years for early settlers to find a way across the ranges. It is now a one hour drive west from Sydney on either the Great Western Highway or the panoramic Bells Line of Road to the north.

The Blue Mountains are a haven for serious hikers and bushwalkers and are a traditional weekend getaway for the city dwellers of Sydney.

This is the home of the Three Sisters rock formation that have featured on Australian postcards for many years. The region is also home to some of the prettiest villages in Australia with Leura, Katoomba and Blackheath being the better known ones. The Jenolan Caves are always a popular attraction.

Visitors to the Blue Mountains will find an excellent selection of  fine accommodation. The area is known for it's grand guest houses, hotels and b&b's.  There are several national parks in the area that have camp grounds with sites for tents and campervans.

This "get away from it all" part of New South Wales offers bushwalking, horse riding, rock cliffs and abseiling, canyoning, waterfalls, national parks, flora and fauna, a scenic railway, limestone caves and botanic gardens.
